The day after a great Christmas, Boxing Day by tradition. For us it’s a quiet day. Actually our entire holiday season so far has been quiet.
The kids were here both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. We did finger foods on Christmas Eve, and a sit down dinner Christmas Day. No one person did all the work, and everyone got a chance to relax. A perfect day!

See the earbuds in my ears? I wasn’t listening to something else, I use those frequently to help control the tinnitus. It somehow changes the pressure in my ears and mutes the tinnitus volume.
I spent a lot of time yesterday while everyone was watching movies being in the same room but stitching. And I made great progress on Celtic Spring.

I don’t think I’ve made that much progress on her in a single day ever. It just flowed yesterday. Probably because her skirt is long blocks of color. I’m hoping to get this page in the pattern done before I rotate projects again, but there’s a lot more of that skirt to stitch. I usually rotate big projects about once a week.
Update on Nissa. Tomorrow she goes to the vet again for her last B12 injection. But it’s not looking good. She continues to lose weight and refuses to eat almost everything the vet has recommended. She’s also refusing to take her meds. Quite honestly we’re at the point where our goal is to make her as comfortable as possible and feed her whatever she’ll eat. She’s lost over 1/3 of her body weight and at 13 years old this isn’t sustainable. And I don’t think it’s recoverable from as her bloodwork doesn’t show any disease so we don’t know definitively what we’re fighting (I have my suspicions which I will bring to the vet tomorrow). She has been on thyroid meds since she was two. Four years ago we almost lost her to Hemolytic Anemia and never found what triggered that. She’s been on medicated food for major gastro and diarrhea issues for several years now. She would have a flare and then it would settle, then a couple months later flare again. We love her dearly and will not let her suffer but right now, except losing weight, she’s as alert and intent as always.
In better news, the pups (can they still be called that?) have fully come into their own. Maddie is Miss Mischievous and Sadie is The Little Princess. 🤣 Ciarra is Ciarra, elder alpha and more quiet since her best bud has been sick. The cats are fine. Sasha and Mallory still fight but not as often. They have clearly defined territories in the house. Izzy is loved by all (cats, dogs and people) and revels in it.

I hope everyone had a peaceful Christmas. I’m off now to decide whether to start a new sampler today or on New Years Eve. I have two large samplers I want to complete in 2025. “Coming to America” and “And Be Kind To One Another”. They’re destined to hang above the tv on either side of the painting from Grandma B. But first they must be started!
Next time I’ll update on quilting and studio stuff.
I’m sorry you’re dealing with tinnitus. I get occasional noise, but it was never severe and I don’t notice it much now with my hearing aids. I think they much help with it. The cross stitch is gorgeous!!
